December 22, 2016 — Today’s $7.2 billion settlement between the Justice Department and Deutsche Bank contains admissions that the bank knowingly made mortgage loans that did not meet its lending guidelines then lied about that practice when reselling loans.  But, wait!  Tony Viola is in jail because the government alleged that he tricked banks including Deutsche Bank into making loans that didn’t meet their lending guidelines.  Federal Prosecutors have proof that lenders are responsible for wrongdoing in Tony’s case but can’t bring themselves to do the right thing.  Banks have been allowed to offer false testimony at both of Tony’s trials.  At his second trial, Tony proved his innocence but he remains in jail,
